Sources

Dates, credits and film history come from established references: film archives and libraries, published film histories, studio and distributor records, and reference works. We link to our sources under each guide. Where accounts differ, as they often do for old films, we say so.

Copyright and where to watch

Statements about the public domain follow US law as explained by libraries and legal scholars, and we note that rules differ in other countries. We only point to legal ways to watch films.

Independence

No studio, distributor or streaming service pays to appear on the site, and we do not use affiliate links. Photographs come from free stock libraries and are credited to their photographers; we do not use stills or posters we have no right to publish.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and update the date on the guide. You can reach us through the contact page.
